This isn't your whole story

Alloway Tunnel are proud to support the Healthier Scotland mental health awareness campaign called 'This isn't your whole story.' We welcomed BEMZ, an award winning rap sensation who visited the tunnel this week (9 March 2026) to record a video promoting the Mind-to Mind website and campaign.

He said, "Life can get a bit mad and a bit hectic and sometimes you might find yourself feeling stuck - feeling that you don't have anyone you can chat to.

"From early on I realised that I could use my music as a way to express myself and get all those feelings out of my head and down on paper. I also realised that these times don't last for ever but can only get better if we share it with the people we care about, love or get help when it's possible. I hope this message helps someone passing through the Alloway Tunnel today; a reminder that a tough time doesn't define you, and how you feel right now isn't forever.

For me, this one means a lot though. Ayr is my home away from home and its a place that has given me so much. So to have my words live on the tunnel walls (alongside the other Ayrshire creatives) means the world.

"If you're not feeling like yourself, the Mind-to-Mind website is free to access and includes real stories, expert advice, and clear routes to support whether it's anxiety, panic, stress, money worries, loneliness, or grief you are struggling with." (www.nhsinform.scot/mind-to-mind)

BEMz started his career at Ayrshire College doing Sound Production and is now recognised as a leading figure in the Scottish hip-hop scene. He has gained critical acclaim, including winning BBC Introducing's Scottish Act of the Year and the Scottish Music Awards 'Sound of Scotland' Award.

Art is a wonderful way to calm the mind. Being out in the fresh air and enjoying walking or cycling can make you feel so good. The Alloway Tunnel is the perfect blend of both. If you've not discovered this hidden gem yet, come for a visit soon.
