Meet our main sponsors who are helping bring the project to life
ArtRoots is a community fund in Scotland supporting artistic improvements to traffic-free paths along the National Cycle Network. It offers grants of up to £5000 p.a. for community-led art projects that enhance neighborhoods and promote active travel.
Transport Scotland funds the projects through Sustrans, and the goal is to involve local communities in designing and creating the artworks, making the active travel network more attractive to both locals and visitors. The funded projects can range from temporary installations to permanent features like sculptures, murals, and more.
The Ayrshire College Foundation Collaborating Communities Fund supports community projects with educational benefits for Ayrshire. They granted £5000 to the Alloway Tunnel project, providing opportunities for college students to gain work experience.
Art and Design students participated in a logo design competition and will work on the tunnel mural. Social Science students researched Ayrshire's history for the storyboard. Business students contributed to the business plan, website, and social media strategy. Construction students will prepare the site, and Tourism students will promote the travel route. The fund enables collaborative projects like this, aligning with the Foundation's goals.
Creative Scotland is the public body that supports the arts, screen and creative industries across all parts of Scotland. They enable people and organisations to work in and experience the arts, screen and creative industries in Scotland by helping others to develop great ideas and bring them to life.
They helped the Alloway Railway Tunnel to organise a Crowdfunding Campaign and provided match funding which helped us raise £5000 towards our arts project.
The Alloway Railway Tunnel has been awarded £12,610 from The National Lottery Community Fund raised by players of the National Lottery. The funding will have a major impact on the success of the project to transform the Alloway Railway Tunnel from a dilapidated tunnel that was defaced with graffiti into a safe, inspiring place.
Thanks to the #NationalLottery players for making our project possible. We’re making a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of people thanks to #NationalLottery funding.
People’s Postcode Trust is a grant-giving charity fundedentirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Our organisation received £25,000 from the Trust to help us achieve our art mural project.
